Custom RV Fabrication and Metalwork near Placentia, California

Custom fabrication builds the parts that no longer exist: compartment doors, brackets, bumpers, ladder mounts, slide supports, racks and reinforcement for equipment upgrades. Work is done in metal or composite and fitted to the coach in-shop. Projects generally run $750 to $20,000. Placentia owners are about ten minutes from the shop on Yorba Linda Blvd.

What kinds of RV parts do you fabricate?

The everyday list is structural brackets, outrigger and crossmember sections, compartment doors and frames, bumpers, ladder and rack mounts, slide-out room supports, battery trays, generator mounts and reinforcement plates for equipment that the original coach never carried.

The upgrade side is growing. Solar arrays, larger battery banks, heavier bike and cargo racks and replacement rooftop equipment all impose loads the original structure was not designed around, so mounts are built with backing plates that spread load into the cage rather than into a thin skin.

We also fabricate cosmetic parts. Trim extrusions, fascia panels and compartment door skins for coaches out of production get reproduced in matching material and then refinished in the booth so they read as original rather than as an obvious patch.

How do you choose between steel, aluminum and composite?

By load, weight and corrosion exposure. Steel goes where load and weld strength dominate, such as chassis and outrigger repairs. Aluminum goes where weight matters and the environment is exposed. Composite goes where a panel needs to match existing fiberglass and carry little structural load.

Weight is a real constraint on an RV, not a preference. Every pound of over built bracketry comes off payload and shifts axle loading, so parts are engineered to the actual load case rather than made heavy in the hope that heavy equals safe.

Galvanic isolation is non negotiable where materials meet. Aluminum fastened directly against steel in a damp wall cavity or under a belly pan corrodes measurably, so joints get isolating washers, coatings or sleeves as part of the build rather than as an afterthought.

What is included

  • Templating from the damaged original or the existing mounting footprint
  • Steel, aluminum and stainless fabrication with structural welding
  • Composite and fiberglass panel layup for cosmetic reproductions
  • Backing plate and reinforcement design for equipment upgrades
  • Galvanic isolation at every dissimilar metal joint
  • Coating, priming and booth refinishing so the part matches the coach
  • Test fit and installation with sealed, correctly bedded fasteners

Questions we get asked

How long does a custom fabricated RV part take?
A simple bracket is often a two to four day turnaround. A compartment door with a matching skin and refinish runs one to three weeks. Larger projects such as a fabricated bumper assembly or a full rack system with reinforcement typically take three to six weeks including finishing and installation.
Can you fabricate a part from a photo if mine is destroyed?
Sometimes, but a photograph alone is a poor dimensional reference. What works far better is the mounting footprint on the coach itself, which we measure directly. Bringing the coach in gives us the actual geometry and produces a part that fits the first time instead of needing rework.
Do you build racks and mounts for solar or extra batteries?
Yes, and the structural design comes with it. Solar arrays and lithium banks add concentrated load in places the coach was never engineered for, so mounts are built with load spreading backing rather than lag screws into thin decking. Placentia owners often combine this with an electrical upgrade.
