What does an in-shop RV inspection actually cover?
Structure, envelope and systems. That means chassis and outrigger condition, wall cage squareness, roof membrane and every seam, sidewall moisture readings, slide-out operation and seals, awning condition, and a function test of electrical, plumbing, propane and every installed appliance.
Moisture work is the heart of it. Readings are taken at the usual entry points, meaning window and door flanges, awning rails, slide flanges, roof penetrations and the lower sidewall, and anything elevated is probed to distinguish surface dampness from failed substrate.
Systems are exercised rather than glanced at. The generator gets loaded, the air conditioners are run, the water system is pressurized, the furnace is cycled and the refrigerator is run on both gas and electric, because appliances routinely pass a visual check and fail under actual operation.
Why do you inspect only at your facility?
Because a meaningful inspection needs a level floor, an elevated platform to walk the roof safely, underside access, shore power to run the whole coach, water supply, and the diagnostic instruments. Those things live at 23281 La Palma Ave, and an inspection performed without them is worth much less.
The other advantage is continuity. If the inspection finds a problem, the same technicians who documented it can quote and perform the repair, and the photographs already in the file support the estimate rather than requiring a second evaluation from scratch.
