A Repair Facility Built Around What Adjusters Need on RV Files

If you handle recreational vehicle files, you already know the two things that make them difficult: the vehicles are too large for most facilities to open properly, and the supplements arrive without the support needed to approve them. We address both. One inspection visit, vehicles opened and lifted, and supplements that arrive complete the day damage is found.

Why does an inspection here take one visit instead of three?

Because the vehicle can actually be opened. Most inspections on recreational vehicle files fail to conclude on the first visit for a physical reason: the coach is sitting somewhere it cannot be lifted, disassembled or operated, so half the damage remains unverifiable.

Our facility runs thirty five thousand square feet with the lift capacity and bay dimensions for full size Class A coaches, fifth wheels in the forty foot range, box trucks and buses. That means the underside can be inspected, panels can be pulled under authorization, and slide rooms can be cycled fully in and out on a level surface while you watch rather than described to you afterward.

By the time you arrive, our documentation is already assembled: arrival photographs, damage detail at multiple distances, interior and systems images, moisture readings where intrusion is possible, and measurements against specification where structure is involved. You are reviewing evidence rather than generating it, which is what turns a two hour inspection into a forty minute one.

Scheduling is straightforward and we work around adjuster availability rather than the reverse. We are at 23281 La Palma Ave in Yorba Linda with direct access from the 91, roughly ten minutes from Placentia and convenient to the north Orange County territory. Phone is (949) 799-3387 and email is info@ocrvcenter.com.

What does a supplement from this shop actually contain?

Everything needed to approve or decline it without a follow up request. A supplement that arrives with a description and no support costs both of us a round trip, and on a torn down coach occupying a bay that round trip has a real daily cost attached to it.

Each supplement includes photographs of the condition as found, in context and in close up, measurements where structure or fit is involved, part numbers with source and delivered cost, labor hours with the operation named, and the reason the condition could not have been identified at the initial inspection. That last element is the one most commonly missing and most commonly asked for.

Where manufacturer repair procedures exist, we cite them rather than asserting that an operation is necessary. Sectioning locations, bonding requirements, sealant specifications, torque values and calibration requirements are documented positions rather than opinions, which makes a decline easier to justify or an approval easier to defend on file review.

Supplements go out the day the condition is found rather than being batched at job end. Batching is faster for a shop and worse for everyone else, because it stacks all approval time into the period when the vehicle is already torn down. Every submission is logged with a date, and that log goes to the owner as well, so nobody is reconstructing a timeline from memory.

What makes RV files different from the auto files on your desk?

Four things, and all of them push in the same direction: RV damage is systematically underestimated at first inspection, so early teardown authorization produces a more accurate file rather than a more expensive one.

Laminated construction hides damage. A composite sidewall transmits impact energy into framing, insulation and interior structure with very little external evidence, so a photo estimate on a coach captures the outer skin and misses the rest. This is why supplements on recreational vehicle files are normal rather than a sign that something went wrong at first estimate.

House systems are part of the damage. LP lines, twelve volt and shore power circuits, plumbing runs, slide mechanisms, roof membranes and appliances all sit in or behind the structure that took the impact. An estimate written on automotive assumptions omits all of them, and each one is a real inspection operation with labor attached at our mechanical and electrical rate.

Value is highly variable and frequently undocumented. Conversions, chassis upgrades, solar and lithium systems and custom interiors can exceed the value of the base unit, and none of it appears in a standard valuation. We document those components photographically with model and serial plates during teardown so valuation is based on evidence rather than on an owner's description.

Parts lead times are longer and less predictable. Molded caps, slide rails, specific window frames and discontinued graphics can run weeks, which affects cycle time, loss of use exposure and storage. We give confirmed lead times when we order rather than optimistic ones, so your file reflects the real calendar rather than a hopeful one.

What is included

  • Complete inspection in one visit with the vehicle lifted, opened and slides cycled
  • Documentation package assembled before you arrive rather than generated during the visit
  • Supplements submitted the day damage is found with full photographic and dimensional support
  • Manufacturer repair procedure references cited where they exist
  • Confirmed parts lead times supplied at order rather than estimated
  • Dated communication log shared with both the adjuster and the vehicle owner

Questions we get asked

Can you host an inspection on a forty five foot coach?
Yes. Our thirty five thousand square foot facility has the lift capacity, bay dimensions and booth length for full size Class A coaches, forty foot fifth wheels, box trucks and buses. The vehicle can be lifted, panels pulled under authorization, and slide rooms cycled fully on a level surface during your visit rather than described afterward.
How quickly do you turn around an estimate?
An initial estimate on a vehicle already at our facility is typically written within one to three business days depending on complexity and whether teardown authorization is in place. Where teardown is authorized up front, the estimate that follows is a measured scope rather than a visible damage scope, which reduces supplement volume substantially.
Do you push for teardown on every file?
No. On cosmetic panel damage with no impact path into structure, a visible damage estimate is appropriate and we write it that way. We request teardown where the damage geometry indicates energy travelled into the laminate, the framing or a systems bay, and we state that reasoning in the request rather than treating it as routine.
Which carriers do you already work with directly?
Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, AAA SoCal, AAA Enterprises, Mercury, Allstate, American Family, Wawanesa, National General, CSAA, Foremost, Liberty Mutual, Tesla, Cincinnati and AGWS. We work files with carriers outside that list on the same terms, and the documentation standard does not change based on who is paying.
